Austin Snyder Elementary School

H. Austin Snyder Elementary School is the creation of its namesake, the beloved former Superintendent, H. Austin Snyder, who served Sayre Area School District from 1946 to 1976. The building was constructed in 1973 to consolidate the numerous small elementary schools within Sayre and to provide the most flexible classroom environment for implementing a variety of effective instructional techniques used at the time and those yet to be discovered. H. Austin Snyder is a flexible or open space school with grade level pods arranged around a central library/media center.

Back Hills Angus was originally a dairy farm until 2004. They changed because they wanted to provide organic, delicious Angus meat to the community. They offer frozen black Angus meat by the pound. if you wish to fill your freezer they also sell by the 1/4, 1/2, or Whole. They raise their animals with no antibiotics or hormones. They are only fed grass and corn grown on the very same farm.

Mama Chisari's handmade Biscotti are made in the true Italian tradition with only the freshest and finest ingredients available. Unlike commercial cookies hers do have butter, shortening or oils added. Vivian Chisari, aka Mama Chisari, prepares all our pastries by hand. She only uses unbleached flour, pure cane sugar, fresh eggs, chocolate, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, pure flavors, and leavening. Handmade and rolled just like grandma used to make. Ummmmmm Ummm...good! Only one variety - Chocolate Hazelnut has no butter or oil. Celebrations also does catering and wedding cakes.

The CopperTree Shop was founded in the 1930's by Martha Lloyd. It was founded to provide opportunities for people with developmental disabilities looking to work in a retail environment. They offer Pottery, Candles, Tins, Bath Products, Linens, Bulk Foods, Dried Floral Arrangements, Locally Handcrafted products, and other various inexpensive gifts. What makes CopperTree Shop Unique is that all gift baskets come wrapped in cellophane with a decorative bow. Cooperate Orders are welcome. Endless Mountains Maple Syrup

Endless Mountain Cabin Maple Syrup was founded in 1796 by Daniel Russel. They offer such products as maple cream, maple candies, and maple syrup. An interesting fact about this company: When it was first founded, they used wooden taps and buckets to collect the sap, to later be boiled in open kettles in the woods. Endless Mountains Cabin Maple Syrup is family owned and operated. What keeps the customers coming back is the delicious maple products.

LeRoy Heritage Museum Inc.

The first meeting of LeRoy Heritage Museum, Inc. was held on May 19, 2001. A group of local citizens, who were both interested in local history and concerned about how that history should be preserved, began to formulate the idea of creating a museum in LeRoy. The museum began collecting artifacts, furniture, memorabilia, written records, genealogy, photographs, and much more, to be included in the museum. The museum has stepped in and saved local artifacts from being lost forever. Many people have donated items for the museum.

Marie Antoinette Lookout

The Marie Antoinette Lookout is and overlook located just off of US Route 6 near Wyalusing in Pennsylvania. It offers a scenic view of the Susquehanna River, the mountains, the French Azilum, and a French refugee settlement that was built sometime in the late 1700s or early 1800s. Between 1793 and 1803, French refugees established a settlement in the area. That settlement is now known as the French Azilum Historic Site. It is said that Marie Antoinette planned to settle here.

Mount Pisgah State Park

Named for the Biblical mountain from which one might glimpse the future. The 1,302-acre parks encompasses Stephen Foster Lake, named for the famous composer of the 1800's. This lovely little park is filled with year round outdoor activities for everyone. Mt. Pisgah is a great place for picnicking, there are several barbecue grills around the park and also pavilions. The park also has several trails for hiking and a swimming pool. The pool opens on Memorial Day weekend. The park also has boats, canoes, and paddle boats which can be rented.

P.P. Bliss Gospel Songwriters Museum

The Philip P. Bliss Gospel Songwriters Museum is located in Rome, Pennsylvania, in the house where Bliss lived. Bliss is the writer of many favorite gospel hymns such as "Hallelujah, What A Savior," "Let the Lower Lights Be Burning," "Almost Persuaded" and many others. He wrote the music to Horatio Spafford's lyric "It Is Well With My Soul." If you appreciate the old gospel hymns of the 1870s, or if you are visiting beautiful northeastern Pennsylvania for other reasons, please come by the Gospel Songwriters Museum in Rome.

The SAYRE HISTORICAL SOCIETY is an organization formed to preserve the history of Sayre, Pennsylvania, and to share it with the public of all ages...... by establishing the Sayre Historical Society Museum in the historic Lehigh Valley Railroad Passenger Station by collecting, maintaining and displaying historical informationand artifacts and by publishing the story of the people of Sayre. One of the most valuable parts of our mission is to educate the public about the importance, influence and development of the community of Sayre and its people.

Spalding Memorial Library

History of the Spalding Memorial LibraryThe original building was built in 1897 by Jesse Spalding in loving memory of his son, Robert L. Spalding 1872 to 1895, as a gift to the inhabitants of Athens Township.The cost of the construction at that time was close to $25,000. Mr. Spalding was born in Bradford County, PA and educated at the Athens Academy. The Academy was located on the lot across the street from the library on South Main Street. He became a very successful lumberman and businessman in Chicago, IL. On March 12, 1897, it was announced that Mr.

Sugar Run Cabins

Sugar Run Cabins are seasonal rustic cabins that are available for those who like indoor plumbing and a hot shower. Each cabin has a full kitchen, bath and screened in porch. You can kayak on the Susquehanna River and stay overnight at our cabins. We are located in the small village of Sugar Run across the Susquehanna River from Wyalusing. Scenic highway Rte. 6 traverses along the winding river here between Tunkhannock and Towanda. Bradford County is rich in history and large dairy farms. The Susquehanna River provides some great bass fishing in nice secluded areas of the river.
