Food Stops
The journey begins in Towanda, where the Susquehanna River glimmers beside town. Right away, the climbs announce themselve, winding through shaded hollows and ridge-top farms, where stone walls and barns tell stories of Pennsylvania’s past. After a thrilling descent, Sayre welcomes you with small-town charm, a craft pint at Bluestone Brewery, and a cozy night at the Hampton Inn. Short but mighty, today sets the tone: every climb pays back in scenery, community, and reward.

Fuel up at The Grille at the Train Station before tackling one of the route’s signature climbs: Armenia Mountain. The ride rolls through pastoral valleys and farmland before winding higher into blueberry barrens and sweeping vistas. Stop at Greener Pastures Farm, where fresh produce, views, and farm animals make for a memorable pause, then climb on to Lamb’s Lookout, where the horizon feels endless. Descend fast into Canton, a small town rich with Victorian architecture and cycling pride. Refuel with pizza and ice cream at Flavorland, or dine at the historic Park Hotel. Rest at the family-run Rockgirt BnB, steeped in history and warmth. Tough miles, unforgettable rewards.

Lodging
Pitch a Tent/Cabin
This day is pure forest magic. Pedal past Bearwallow Pond, where the water mirrors the sky, then snack at McCarty Mercantile (don’t miss the antique safe in the back!). From here, climb higher into Loyalsock State Forest and into Eagles Mere for a sweet treat at the Sweet Shop or coffee in town. Then the route’s crown jewel awaits: Loyalsock Canyon Vista, a sweeping overlook of river and gorge. Finish with a descent into Worlds End State Park, a wild gorge with camping and cabins. Dinner at Big Mike’s Hoagies caps the day. One word: epic.
Day 4:
Worlds End to Dushore
58.2 Miles
5593 ft
Leave the misty gorge of Worlds End and climb into deep forest solitude. Midday, roll into Jamison City for lunch at the penny-lined bar of the Jamison City Hotel or under the gaze of the stuffed bison at the Central Park Hotel. Ridges rise and fall until you crest into Dushore, a town with one traffic light and a quirky tradition: outhouse races with painted toilet seats scattered across storefronts! Stay at Twin Spruce Tourist Home and dig in at Marybeth’s Westside Deli. Rugged climbs, quirky charm, and small-town hospitality—Sullivan County at its finest.
Day 5:
Dushore to Towanda
61.6 Miles
5404 ft
Wake to the smell of a home-cooked breakfast at Twin Spruce or wander to Pam’s Restaurant, fueling for a rolling ride that soon delivers you to the river valleys of Wyoming County. The Susquehanna bends closer here, its waters carving through farmlands dotted with red barns and grazing cattle. From Sugar Run on the river, it’s 21 rewarding miles back into Towanda, where the Susquehanna greets you once more. Celebrate at the Flying Taco, then toast the journey with fellow riders at a local pub. Stay at the Hatch House B&B or the Fairfield Marriott for a final night of rest. What began as an unknown adventure in Towanda now concludes as a circle completed: 250 miles of climbing, coasting, and discovery through the Endless Mountains.
